Research Area and Interest:

Vision is an active process. We are constantly moving our eyes to points of interest in the visual scene. Before each gaze shift, perceptual processing must identify potential targets for the eye movement, convey this information to higher centers in the brain where decisions to prepare and execute the motor command occur. Our research addresses the challenging question of how information processed by the visual system guides the motor systems to produce overt behavior. Our research interests span across the fields of visual perception, attention, and the generation of motor behavior and will involve the application of cognitive/psychophysical, neuropsychological and physiological techniques in human and non-human primates.
