If you are enthusiastic about a career in brain research, do consider joining our PhD programme. The PhD degree (Biotechnology) will be awarded by RCB.
Given the fact that modern day neuroscience is highly interdisciplinary in nature and relies on a spectrum of techniques spanning different disciplines, students from diverse academic backgrounds are encouraged to join BRIC-NBRC and excel in neuroscience research. Our Ph.D. students come from vastly different backgrounds such as Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering and Medical Sciences.
To gain an all-round perspective of neuroscience, you will undergo 6 months of coursework, where you will learn from molecular to computational neuroscience. You will also get an opportunity to rotate in various labs to get a closer look how research is conducted, and decide what excites you the most.
All admitted candidates must avail Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) for first two years from CSIR/UGC/ICMR/DBT/DST/any other and afterwards will be eligible for Senior Research Fellowship(SRF) as per the rules of respective funding agencies. The total tenure of JRF and SRF cannot exceed 5 years.
